A Family-Owned and Operated Preschool
Our preschool is family-owned and operated, with family members making up our teaching team. Each member of our teaching team has Montessori training and has been part of our school for many years.
Our close-knit team provides consistency and familiarity for the children and families we serve. Because we have worked together for years, we share a strong understanding of our classroom environment, Montessori philosophy, and approach to supporting children's development.
We take pride in creating a warm, respectful, and nurturing environment where children can develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Meet Mrs. Valerie
Hi, I’m Mrs. Valerie, Head Teacher and Director of Knowledge House since 2011. I’m a certified Montessori teacher for ages 3–6 and hold teaching certifications in K–8, Early Childhood, and Special Education.
I love animals, exploring nature, and getting messy with art projects. My favorite part of the day is watching those little sparks of magic when children of different ages play, explore, and learn together—it never gets old!
Meet Mr. Mark
Hi, I’m Mr. Mark, a Montessori teacher for ages 3–6, and I’ve been part of Knowledge House since 2013. I love leading the children at circle time through songs, stories, and opportunities to practice speaking in front of and with their peers.
The best part of my day is seeing that proud, excited smile when a child discovers they can do something new on their own. Those “aha!” moments are what make teaching so much fun!
Meet Mr. Will
Hi, I’m Mr. Will, a Montessori-certified teacher for ages 3–6 and a graduate of the University of Washington. I’ve been teaching at Knowledge House since 2021.
I love taking the class on nature walks through our garden to explore plants, insects, and animals. It’s always exciting when children share what they know—their questions often spark new topics and discoveries for the whole class!
Meet Ms. Olivia
Hi, I’m Ms. Olivia, a Montessori-certified teacher for ages 3–6 and a graduate of South Kitsap High School. I’ve been part of Knowledge House since 2021.
I love reading with the children, and my favorite part of the day is sharing time, when everyone gets a turn to tell the group about something special to them. It’s a fun way to learn from one another and celebrate each child’s voice!
Experienced, Consistent, and Montessori-Trained
Our teaching team brings years of experience working with young children in a Montessori environment. Because our teachers have worked together at our school for many years, children benefit from a consistent approach to classroom routines, expectations, guidance, and learning.
We believe this continuity is an important part of creating a secure and comfortable environment for young children.
